Two special youth events took place last weekend in the Rocky Mountain Conference » Both of our camps, Glacier View Ranch, in Ward, Colo., and Mills Spring Ranch, on Casper Mountain in Wyoming, hosted special events for our young people. I would like to share a report about each.
Mark Bond, RMC communication director, participated in the RMC Teen Prayer Summit held at GVR and wrote a report about how God blessed the event.
Pastor Gary Force, of the NE Wyoming District, led out in a Waldensian journey for youth at Mills Spring Ranch, and he wrote a report from that ministry weekend.
Theology of Ordination Committee convened in Silver Spring, Md. » As I have all along, I will do my best to keep you informed as our Church studies together to develop a theology of ordination. Artur A. Stele, chair of the Theology of Ordination Committee, shared a report about the progress made after the Committee’s first gathering. Read more.
More than 400 people attended the “Hell and Mr. Fudge” screening » The “Hell and Mr. Fudge” screening for the Denver area, organized by Karen Lewis and The Healing Place, was a great blessing to many! Click here to read Karen’s happy report.
Vista Fellowship to start the year off with evangelism » Vista Fellowship, in Longmont, Colo., will offer an evangelistic series for the community, commencing Feb. 22, with guest speaker Victor Gill from Amazing Discoveries. Click here to read the full announcement, which includes times and location, sent by Keith Dunnigan, Vista Fellowship’s communication director.
On the road » My wife Diane and I enjoyed greatly our journey last weekend. We were blessed by Pastor Steve Hamilton’s message Friday evening, at the Teen Prayer Summit at Glacier View Ranch, and enjoyed worshiping with the International Church in Denver on Sabbath. Diane was surprised at the number of men in the kitchen preparing the fellowship dinner, which turned out to be quite delicious.
This Sabbath we will worship with the Durango Church family in Colorado.
In closing, I thought I would share a Spirit of Prophecy passage, which was sent my way. The more you read from Ellen White, the more you realize what a precious gift her leadership and writings have been to our church.
“Cultivate the habit of speaking well of others. Dwell upon the good qualities of those with whom you associate, and see as little as possible of their errors and failings.” (Read complete passage.)
Happy Sabbath everyone!
Elder Gary Thurber
