Office staff volunteers at the Distribution Center » This past Tuesday, those from the Conference office who were able joined Cathy Kissner, Rocky Mountain Conference ACS DR coordinator, and her team of volunteers at the Distribution Center, in Loveland, Colo., to help with relief efforts for the flood victims.
I believe each of us were overwhelmed at the size of the Center and the amount of food, clothing, medical supplies, household and personal supplies, and furniture that has been donated to bless those in need.
Cathy and her team have worked so hard, and have been a wonderful blessing to many. In the last three days of operation, more than 190 volunteers donated approximately 530 hours of service at the Center to bless those who were affected by the floods.

On Tuesday, when our office staff went to Loveland to help with the disaster relief at the Distribution Center, I was privileged to walk around the Center and meet those who were shopping for their dire needs. As we talked, I learned how the devastating flood affected each personally. I met so many people with amazing stories and faith, a number who literally lost everything.
One couple I had an opportunity to meet was Jim and Julie. They lost everything, yet still hold on to their faith in the Lord. It was an honor to be able to pray with them about their challenging journey.
This Sabbath, I will be worshiping at the Boulder Church, and helping with their pastoral search.
Wherever you find yourself this Sabbath, I pray you will feel the strong, gracious arms of your Savior surrounding you and your family!
Happy Sabbath to all!
Elder Gary Thurber
