|Alomia accepts call to College View Church » Harold Alomia, senior pastor of the Campion SDA Church, has accepted a call to be the lead pastor of the College View SDA Church on the campus of Union College in Lincoln, Neb. Harold and his wife, Rosie, will finish out the school year at the Campion Academy church, and plan to move to Lincoln, in June.
"The Alomia's have been a huge blessing both to the Campion Church and to the Campion Academy campus," shares Spencer Hannah, principal of Campion Adventist Academy. "We will miss their warm presence here on campus."
The Rocky Mountain Conference recently approved a position for an associate pastor to join the ministry team at the Campion Church. Please join us as we pray for the Lord's leading in the search for a new pastoral team to lead the Campion Church.
Encouraging first quarter tithe reported » The Rocky Mountain Conference is rejoicing with the 1st quarter tithe report. "So far, we are seeing regular tithe at about 6.8% for the first quarter," shares George Crumley, RMC vice president for finance. "We also received a windfall tithe in the neighborhood of $340,000 in the first quarter. We never budget for windfall tithe, but when a blessing like that comes in, it helps us support ministry above and beyond what we plan for."
It's impossible to know what the rest of the year will bring, but if tithe continues to flow in at the current rate, we will end the year ahead of inflation, which is typically in the 3 percent range. When a conference ends the year with no increase, or just an increase of 2 to 3 percent, they actually are not keeping up with inflation. In order to be healthy financially, a conference would ideally end the year ahead of inflation.
If you are not currently experiencing the blessing of tithing, prayerfully consider "testing" the Lord in this matter.
