Hawaiian Holiday in Cheyenne » May 20, 2014 was a very special day for Laura E. Mason Christian Academy (LEMCA) in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Dee Kenison, member of the Cheyenne SDA Church, hosted a Hawaiian luncheon, complete with Hawaiian costumes, for the students of LEMCA. Dee, along with a few helpers, prepared a meal of rice with sweet & sour “chicken” sauce, cantaloupe, pineapple, banana bread, cookies, and punch. Students and adults wore Hawaiian-style costumes. It was a fun day for all!
Dee Kenison is a puppeteer and owner of Prairie Puppet & Costume Co. located in Laramie, Wyoming. Through many years in this business, she has collected hundreds of costumes and puppets. Sabbath Services at Yellowstone » The Rocky Mountain Conference hosts weekly Sabbath services at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. This encouraging note from Michael Shannon, who pastors in Montrose, Fruita, Olathe, and Palisade:
Yellow National Park is America’s first national park. There you will find beautiful and marvelous wonders. Besides all of the natural attractions, on Sabbath morning, you will find a Seventh Day Adventist church service. This past Sabbath started our 2014 church services, and they run consecutively each Sabbath through September 6th. This Labor Day weekend Sabbath was a wonderful privilege for my family and I to worship our Awesome Creator in such magnificent place. We met together with a small group of believers. Together we sang, prayed, held Sabbath School, Worship Service, and enjoyed each other’s company. What a blessing!
You too are invited to have this experience, come worship at the Old Faithful Lodge Recreation Hall, Sabbath School begins at 10 am and Worship service at 11 am. If you plan on being at Yellowstone during a Sabbath, from now through September 6th, just show up, bring your family, bring a friend, or bring your entire church. You will be blessed!
Baptisms in Farmington » We received this beautiful testimony from Ruben Balaguer, pastor for the Hispanic district in Durango and Farmington:
Last Sabbath we had a beautiful spiritual feast in the Church of Farmington (N. Mexico). Eight persons of Bloomfield Hispanic Church gave their heart to Jesus through baptism. On April 5 I had the blessing of marrying the couple we see on the left in this church(Karina and Alvaro) and last week he baptized them at the same placethey made their marriage covenant with Jesus. Ramon, the third in the row had been a strict Catholic believer, but his wife Carmen prayed and worked hard for him for many years and he finally surrendered at the feet of Jesus, very happy to be embracing the truth. Four boys and a girl joined the ceremony and encouraged others to do the same. Many non-Adventists families attended and were impressed by this inspiring program. Praise God for these victories!
