Native American Camp Meeting draws crowd » This past weekend the Native American Camp Meeting was a Spirit-filled convocation. The event was held at La Vida Mission, a self-supporting Seventh-day Adventist Mission to the Navajo. There were people who came from all across the Navajo Nation to worship and fellowship together.
Choirs and guest musicians came from as far away as Monument Valley, Utah, and Holbrook Indian School in Holbrook, Ariz., to participate in the special event. There was also wonderful programming for children throughout the weekend.
The camp meeting theme was “Go Light Your World.” Speakers for the event were Blake Jones, Piñon Hills (N.M.) District pastor; Eric Nelson, RMC vice president for administration; Charlie Whitehorse, Pacific Union Conference native ministries coordinator; and me. We appreciated all the event coordination provided by Dolores Bentley, La Vida Mission director, and Polly and Dori Panganiban, La Vida Mission evangelism coordinators, and the rest of the La Vida staff.
