On the road » Last week, we had a wonderful time worshipping with the Durango Church family in Colorado. The music was beautiful, and it was inspiring to walk through the Colombine School with May Oles, principal, and to hear about the incredible mission they have, not only to our young people but to the many community students attending there as well.
We also had an opportunity to meet the new Durango Hispanic Group, which is being formed. Pastor Ruben Balanguer says there are 18 people now attending this new church plant, which meets in the Columbine School library adjacent to the Durango English-speaking church.
This weekend we drive to the Delta (Colo.) Church, where we will join those attending the district convocation. This means we will be able to worship and visit with the Cedaredge and Paonia congregations as well. Thank you, Pastor Seth Coridan, for organizing this event and inviting us; we look forward to being with you!
I love these words from Paul in Ephesians 4:29–31:
“Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
“And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.
“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.
“Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you” (NLT).
Happy Sabbath everyone!
Elder Gary Thurber
