Diane said the Christmas musical program, under the direction of Becky Carlisle, was wonderful at the Boulder Church in Colorado. This Sabbath, I will fill in for Pastor Chris Evenson at the Franktown Church in Colorado. The reason for this is because Pastor Chris and his wife, Lisa Evenson, have been spending a lot of time at St. Anthony Hospital in Denver where Lisa’s father, Dr. Roy Nelson of the Twin Peaks Church in Colorado, is being cared for. He suffered a stroke this week and has been through several surgeries since. The family is still waiting to learn what the side effects he may have suffered as a result of the stroke. Let’s keep Roy and his whole family in our prayers during the very tender time.
This will be the last Nuggets in 2012. Next week, we will be enjoying time with our family during this Christmas season. I pray this Sabbath will be filled with many treasures as we commemorate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Elder Gary Thurber
