The first 'Christmas Store' in Parker, Colo., takes place at the Parker Adventist Hospital » The Newday Church in Parker, Colo., teamed up with Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, Colo., to offer the first annual “Christmas Store” at the hospital. The store served 75 families in need that shopped at the store at no cost to them or their immediate family members. What a great way to touch this community for Jesus!
On the road » Diane and I had a great weekend last week. It started on Friday night at the “Feast of Lights” at the Denver South Church, in Colorado. The music, provided by both the Denver South members and the Mile High Academy students, was tremendous. There was also a Sabbath afternoon program offered. Both programs were well attended by the community. Congratulations to all who worked hard to make these events happen! What a nice gift to the community and to Jesus!
We then worshipped, on Sabbath, at both the Greeley and The Adventure churches in Colorado. Both are warm and welcoming congregations.
I should have shared this news with you a long time ago, but one of our pastors, Gabriel Gutierrez from the Rock Springs, Wyo. District, was married to Rachel Hyman on Sept. 3. Rachel is a gifted musician who has given concerts worldwide where she not only sings beautifully but shares from her Jewish heritage and the joy she has found in Christ.
This Sabbath, Diane and I are going different directions. Diane is headed to the Boulder Church, in Colorado, to experience their annual Christmas program. (Our son, Ryan, and daughter-in-law, Baylie, just happen to be in the choir.) I look forward to worshipping with the Aspen Park Church in Colorado.
If you would like to read and contemplate on the act of Christ, who came to this dark world to save a lost planet, then I encourage you to thoughtfully read Philippians 2:5–11 as our Christmas season continues. What a Savior we serve!
