Alaysha Harris Joins RMC Communications for Internship »
For ten weeks during her summer break from Union College, Alaysha Harris is joining the Rocky Mountain Conference communication team as a 2018 intern. Before joining the RMC office, she commented that her objective is to compare and expand her knowledge of communication and capabilities to help prepare her for the real world.
Alaysha plans to graduate from Union in December 2019 with a B.A. in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations.
“I believe that working as an intern in the RMC communication office will help me grow in various ways. I am looking to challenge myself so that I may be better equipped for future experiences in the communication field. I am excited to widen my knowledge in journalism and continue to use the talents that God has blessed me with,” said Alaysha.
She was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, where she attends Church at Park Hill whenever she comes to here home city. After graduating from high school at Mile High Academy in May, 2015, she then went on to further her education in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Harris mentions, that her college experience was not at all what she had imagined for herself. She switched her major a total of three times, going from marketing, to education, then finally reaching her calling in communications. “The process was challenging, but I believe that I am on the path that God has laid out for me,” said Harris. She is grateful for this opportunity to work as an intern and is eager to grow and learn through the guidance of RMC communication director, Rajmund Dabrowski, and will work also alongside communication assistant, Carol Bolden.
“From our past internships in communication in our conference we have appreciated a two-way benefit. The interns are exposed to how the church works and participate in practicing methods that go beyond their education. The conference gets quality tutoring in the life and culture of the Millennials,” comments Dabrowski.
“Union College always sends us the best and creative students in the past and Alaysha, who comes with great recommendations, follows in their footsteps. We are looking forward to a great summer,” he added.
Alaysha is RMC’s third communication intern since 2015, following other Union College communication students, Katie Morrison and Stefani Leeper.
