RMC Pastors and Leaders Meet to Talk About Their Ministry »
In the month of December, as in previous years, the RMC Conference president, Ed Barnett and the new ministerial director, Mickey Mallory, had the privilege to meet with many of the RMC pastors individually for an hour-long evaluation.
Mallory reported that “for those pastors living on the Front Range, this meant a trip to the conference office. While for those pastoring in southern Colorado and Wyoming, this meant a trip to Colorado Springs, Montrose, or Casper.
The purpose of the evaluation was to provide each pastor with an opportunity to assess what their ministry looks like from the eyes of their local church leaders. This data is shared in an atmosphere of grace and encouragement. On top of that, each pastor is given the opportunity to share his or her ministry plans for the upcoming new year. At the end of the evaluation, there is a time given for prayer.
The feedback from the pastors has been very positive. Pastor Chuck Gadway from the Buffalo, Sheridan, New Castle, Upton, and Gillette Churches in Wyoming commented, that “to be able to participate in the pastoral evaluation process allows me to have a better feel for where my district and individual churches are strong and where they need a little encouragement. To be able to visit and interact with leadership in a positive and encouraging way helps me to enhance my ministry in the right direction. Thank you RMC!”
Pastor Mike Maldonado from the Colorado Springs, Church said, that “the pastoral evaluation process benefited me by re-affirming my pastoral calling and receiving the tangible support of RMC president and ministerial director. To be able to participate in the process allows me to have an objective and safe environment for self-evaluation.”
Pastor Bob McAlpine from the Alamosa and Monte Vista Churches in Colorado emphasized the support he receives from RMC. "I appreciate knowing that my RMC leaders are tuned in to what is happening in the local churches around the conference. Their support is a huge blessing,” he said.
“The hope and prayer is that all the pastors serving in RMC will know that the conference leadership care for them personally and want only the best for their ministry,” Mallory remarked.
